Creed and Belief

Mid-South Progressive Agricultural Group’s (MS PAG) overall purpose is education -- education that will empower people to make intelligent decisions relating to their family farms, families, communities, their environment and their financial outlook for the future. MS PAG's unique holistic and cooperative perspective will enable the organization to make a real difference in the lives of Mississippians, Mid-Southerners and family farmers across the southern belt.
Mid-South Progressive Agricultural Group will be an enterprising leader for positive change for individuals, family farmers and communities through the following ways: by providing research and education in a practical and applicable way; by using the latest technology and teaching techniques to serve clients; by developing and using volunteers to help disseminate programs and information; by cooperating with other groups and agencies; and by maintaining a culturally diverse mind-set responsive to the needs of various audiences at all socio-economic levels.
We believe that agriculture and its related enterprises are of major economic importance in the Mid-South and surrounding areas, and we will direct cooperative efforts, programs and training to reflect this importance. We also believe that quality of life is affected by the reciprocal relationship between people and their environment and we will continue to emphasize farming, environmental and financial issues. We recognize the critical need for farm development and financial support for at-risk farmers and will continue to search for ways to help farmers, families and youth cope and adjust with an ever-changing society.
Our ultimate goal will be to help sustain at-risk farmers assuring that these individuals will not be endangered for generations to come through lack of knowledge, financial hardship, eminent domain or any other farm demands that aids in the devastation of these decreasing farmers.
